About Me

Licensed Therapist

LGBTQ+ Somatic Trauma Therapist

Hi, my name is Kiersten Kelley (she/her), the Owner and Gay Therapist of Liberation Counseling, LLC the place where social justice and counseling meet. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master of Social Work at Florida State University in 2021. Since graduating, I have worked in residential treatment, as a therapist in community mental health, as a therapist in private practice, and as a school social worker for Orange County Public School District and Osceola County School District. In 2022 I started my own private practice Liberation Counseling, LLC in the state of Florida to provide accessible and quality teletherapy services to the LGBTQ community.

I am a mixed queer woman that is passionate about social justice and mental health. Navigating generational trauma, mixed identity, compulsory heteronormativity, anxiety/panic attacks, PTSD, and women’s and LGBTQ issues are some things I have personal experience working through. As a queer therapist, I see every day how environments and systems, whether that be at home, work, or in the community, can affect our mental health, especially our ability to heal and feel safe. That is why social justice and counseling go hand in hand in finding liberation. Locally and globally there is an attack on human lives and our rights. Now more than ever mental health professionals need to address the politics of mental health and allow space for these topics in sessions with clients.

If you or someone you know is experiencing mental health struggles and would like to begin their journey of healing and self-discovery please reach out today.
