FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your rates for sessions?
  • I offer a free 15-minute consultation before starting services to answer any questions and make sure we are a good fit.
  • Standard Session (50 minutes): $125
  • Coupes Session (80 minutes): $150
Do you accept insurance?

I currently accept these insurances: Aetna, Cigna, and Optum. For all other insurances, you may have out-of-network benefits, which means that insurance will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. With Thrizer, you will only have to pay a copay for our sessions, instead of paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This typically allows clients to save on average 70% upfront on our sessions. During our intake process, I can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your co-insurance would be. Please reach out with any questions, I am happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, I offer sliding-scale services to all clients. However, all of my sliding scale slots are filled at this time.

Do you offer sessions in person?

I do not offer sessions in person. My services are offered online only via teletherapy on a HIPPA-compliant platform. Virtual counseling allows therapy to be accessible and convenient for everyone.

What does therapy with you look like?

I provide a holistic trauma-informed and client-centered approach. This means I meet you where you are and center sessions around your goals, concerns, wants, and needs. We will work collaboratively and at your own pace. During your first session, we will cover HIPPA, consent forms, confidentiality, and other policies to make sure you are fully informed about your rights as a client and the guidelines of my practice. Then we will go over what brought you to therapy and work on building rapport with each other. This looks like learning about your identities, interests, goals of counseling, family history, presenting problems, past mental health history, experiences, systems, jobs, hobbies, and home life. We will also address any questions, comments, or concerns you have regarding treatment, me as your therapist, or anything else that may come up.

How long will I be in therapy?

Different factors depend on how long you are in therapy and ultimately the decision is up to you. Healing and self-discovery take time and it is a non-linear process, there is no such thing as a “quick fix” and every person is unique. I also understand that other factors such as finances, unexpected life events, and schedules play a role. During your first session, I will ask you what your needs and expectations are for therapy. Many people start off completing therapy weekly and then will transition to bi-weekly, and with time will come once a month. We will make sure the schedule and frequency meet your needs and can be adjusted whenever needed.

Can I seek services if I live anywhere in the state of Florida?

Yes! I offer therapy services to the entire state of Florida from the convenience of your phone or computer via teletherapy.

Can I seek services if I am not part of the LGBTQIA+ community?

Yes! Although I center the queer community in my services, I work with cisgender and straight clients. I believe everyone can benefit from an open-minded perspective that celebrates uniqueness, differences, and showing up as our authentic selves.
